Conflict of Interest Policy
Bayçınar Medical Publishing is committed to transparency and integrity in scholarly publishing. All participants in the publication process—including authors, reviewers, and editors—are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation, evaluation, or presentation of research.
Definition of Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning a primary interest, such as research integrity or patient welfare, may be influenced by a secondary interest.
Conflicts of interest may be financial or non-financial, direct or indirect, actual, potential, or perceived.
Author Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any relationships or activities that could be perceived as influencing their work, including but not limited to:
- Employment, consultancies, or advisory roles
- Grants, funding, or honoraria
- Stock ownership or other financial interests
- Patents or intellectual property rights
- Personal, academic, or professional relationships
Disclosures must be made at the time of submission and updated if circumstances change.
Reviewer Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript. Reviewers should decline assignments if a conflict exists, including:
- Competitive, collaborative, or personal relationships with the authors
- Financial interests related to the subject matter
- Institutional affiliations that may affect impartiality
Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Editor Conflicts of Interest
Editors are required to recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest. Such manuscripts will be assigned to another qualified editor to ensure an unbiased editorial process.
Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit and ethical considerations.
Disclosure and Transparency
All disclosed conflicts of interest are reviewed by the editorial office. Relevant disclosures may be published alongside the article to ensure transparency for readers.
Failure to disclose conflicts of interest may result in editorial actions, including rejection, retraction, or notification of relevant institutions.
Management of Conflicts of Interest
Bayçınar Medical Publishing follows COPE and ICMJE recommendations for managing conflicts of interest. Appropriate measures are taken to mitigate potential bias and maintain the credibility of the publication process.
Post-Publication Issues
If undisclosed conflicts of interest are identified after publication, corrective actions may be taken, including issuing corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, as necessary.
Commitment to Ethical Publishing
By enforcing a comprehensive conflict of interest policy, Bayçınar Medical Publishing promotes transparency, accountability, and trust among authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.
